That was an incredible ride. The Wild Robot is one of if not the best animated film this year and I'm glad I saw this in theaters. The perfect mix of Iron giant, Wall-E, and Miyazaki, The Wild Robot was a heart warming found family film about a Robot in the wildness who takes on the task of motherhood. It goes without saying, but the animation was stunning in this movie. The animators at DreamWorks continue with this beautiful mix of 2D and 3D, with a nice watercolor like sheen over top that makes every frame of this look like a painting. Lupita Nyong'o, Pedro Pascal, and Kit Connor all do amazing jobs as our 3 main characters in what was an expertly directed film by Chris Sanders, backed by an incredible score my Kris Bowers. I no joke cried for the last 20 minutes of this, and I can't wait to see it again.
