So, I'm going to start with the positives first. Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, and Harrison Ford were all pretty good in this. And the story for the most part was solid. Outside of that, this was unfortunately a soulless sludge of a movie. You could tell that there certainly was "a" movie in this that got chopped to hell after numerous rewrites and reshoots that they did a horrible job hiding. From shoddy CGI, bad ADR, and some of the worst green screen I've ever seen, this movie failed on just about all levels from a technical standpoint. Even though at most, the story is just inoffensive, they somehow managed to bog it down with over exposition, and relying too much on the audience's memory of a 16-year-old movie. To cap it all off we end with one of the worst post credit scenes that was so obviously a reshoot. Marvel studios failed their main cast and Anthony Mackie in particular. On the bright side, brave new world seems to be the end of a string of low-quality output from marvel studios. Thunderbolts looks really fun, and Fantastic 4 looks incredible. The future is bright for the MCU, even with the bumps and bruises along the way.
