Superman was everything I wanted and so much more. It had heart, stakes, incredible action, and a really great performance from David Corenswet. Despite the film feeling a little bloated, I couldn't help but love every minute I was in this world. Immediately, you feel that this is a lived in universe with established dynamics between all the characters in the film. When it comes to the performances, I thought everyone did a really good job. In particular, Edi Gathegi and Nicholas Hoult absolutely killed it as Mr. Terrific and Lex Luthor. They both chewed every piece scenery they were in and stole the movie. The Clark/Superman and Lois dynamic really worked for me as well. Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet came across like they were born to play these characters. Despite some of its flaws, James Gunn and crew have started this new universe with a bang.
