The Long Walk was a hell of a film. Simply put, this was a movie not only about perseverance, but its an exploration on how we deal with adversity, and the idea of remaining strong willed in a world that's seemingly devoid of any and all hope. Right off the bat, special shout out to Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson. Those two were absolute power houses in a film that was chock full of great performances. Francis Lawrence did an amazing job adapting this Stephen King classic as well. For a movie based around a singular action for almost two hours, Lawrence and co brilliantly established the characters, their motivations, and the stakes in what is one of the best Stephen King adaptations ever. The Long Walk was funny, intense, existential, and philosophical. The messaging in the film couldn't be timelier and goes to show that history tends to repeat more often than it creates a new. I watched this movie at night and was locked in the entire way. This one is definitely worth seeking out.
