Now THIS is the MCU Spider-Man story that I've been waiting on. From the incredible action, web swinging, and the tragedy that is the responsibility of being Spider-Man, Brand New Day felt like the most complete Spider-Man movie from this universe. Tom Holland is at his peak and turns in an incredible performance off the heels of The Odyssey. I also loved how lived in the world felt. Destin Daniel Cretton did an incredible job portraying a true friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. In one movie, Cretton virtually fixes every problem I had with this version of the character. The supporting cast works really good for me as well. Frank Castle in particular was a good foil to Peter, and I was pleasantly surprised with how much screen time Jon Bernthal had in the film. I also really liked how they handled the reality of the relationship between Peter, MJ, and Ned post No Way Home. Going forward, it will be interesting to see how their dynamic evolves and changes in the future. All in all, Spider-Man Brand New Day was a shot in the arm and felt like not only a reintroduction for this character, but a fresh start that I'm excited to be on the ride for.
