One Battle After Another is an absolute triumph, and another modern masterpiece from Paul Thomas Anderson. This was shot, scored, and directed beautifully. Accompanied by a pertinent message, PTA knocks it out of the park once again. Right off the bat, special shout out to our main 3 leads. Leonardo DiCaprio as always is doing all-time great work in this. But it was Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti who I felt had a real coming out party in this film. I already knew Teyana Taylor was amazing after her incredible work in A Thousand and One, but her performance here solidified that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. The same can be said for Chase Infiniti. This was easily one of the greatest film debuts for an actor I have ever seen. Clocking in at almost 3 hours, One Battle After Another felt like a breeze. The film is gorgeous to look at and moves with an intensity and intent that not a lot of movies do these days. Not only does PTA expertly handle a serious issue, but he weaves it perfectly with this cat and mouse chase story that balanced ultra seriousness and laugh out loud comedy. Benicio Del Toro and Regina Hall were excellent in this as well. They were the perfect supporting roles in a film that I expect to be filled to the brim with awards considerations. It's a miracle that this movie was made, and it's times like these that art like this is absolutely necessary. One Battle After Another is monumental and should be seen by everyone.
