No Other Choice is nothing short of amazing. Park Chan-wook is back with a film about a flawed man doing what he deems necessary for the sake of his family. I already knew this film was going to be amazing, but I couldn't help being mystified by every split diopter shot, wipe transition, and of course the incredible writing and direction. With incredible performances from the entire cast, you are in for something truly special with this movie. No Other Choice is a harshly comedic look into a family at war with change. I loved the almost overt use of the film's title in the dialogue as well. It gave the phrase multiple meanings and deepened the message of the film in a unique way. I mentioned the comedy in this movie and its absolutely hilarious. The way each sequence of comedy is juxtaposed with ultra serious moments was astonishing. I'm so glad I started 2026 with No Other Choice. There are a lot of great films coming out, and the bar has been set really high right off the bat. I can't wait to see this again.
