Wolf Man was amazing. Leigh Whannell is back with another spin on a universal monster and he knocked it out of the park again. I am forever grateful for the pivot that universal did after the mummy flopped in 2017. Doing smaller, lower budget horror based on these characters was the best option to go. Wolf Man had a pretty simple plot, but it was the incredible sound design and Leigh Whannell's great direction that took it over the hump into a really good territory. I love how sound was a big aspect of the film and was used to tell more of the story without having to use any dialogue between our main characters. Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner deliver in a big way in this film about a man trying so hard to protect his family, that he becomes the thing that scars them. Seeing this in IMAX is a must, and I'm glad to be starting the year with this banger of a movie.
