After settling into a semi rushed first act, Clayface is a really solid entry into the DCU. Tom Harries does an incredible job as Matt Hagen, and the story being told was strong enough to make up for what I felt was a pretty light weight script. Being that this is a body horror movie, there were plenty of genuine gross out moments that will stay with you for a long time. The plane scene shown in the trailers was even more disgusting than I imagined, and I squirmed in my seat during the entire sequence. Director James Watkins also delivered really inventive scenes involving Matt's powers. With a smaller budget, I really loved how he still managed to showcase Hagen's abilities, resulting in horrifyingly fun set pieces. I can't wait to watch Clayface again.
